About

Technological Feeling emerged from Italy in the early '80s, casting a net of sound that caught the liminal edges of experimental music. Operating from 1981 to 1989, this label embraced the tape format — a medium integral to its identity, with 16 of its 17 releases unfurling on cassette. The label's sonic terrain was defined by tape-based soundscapes, where collage techniques and abstract narratives sculpted low-fidelity aesthetics into something uniquely their own. "Reverend Gasper's Dream" by Yellow Yawn, a 1989 release, stands as a sculptural testament to the label's late-era vision, folding dreamscapes into the era's release landscape. Earlier, the dual release "Hermes! Eracle" by Brain Discipline & Tasaday in 1988 epitomized a process-driven approach, merging identities and sounds. The "Label and Distro Overview" from 1987 functioned less as a catalog and more as a statement of intent, an interdisciplinary artifact of self-definition. Technological Feeling's roster — including F:A.R., MGZ, and the enigmatic Open Graves Style — contributed to an evolving tapestry of sound. This was not music for the mainstream; it was music that existed in a parallel dimension, where format preference and release chronology were not just considerations but the very fabric of the label's existence.
