Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia
Experimental project blending ritual music, folk reinterpretation, and industrial aesthetics from the early 1990s underground.
About
Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia is an experimental music project that emerged from the underground industrial and alternative music scene in the early 1990s. Based on their recorded output, the group explored a distinctive fusion of ritualistic elements, folk influences, and avant-garde soundscapes. Their debut release, Exit 23 (Ritual Dance Music), issued on KK Records in 1990, established their approach to combining percussive and textural elements with ceremonial aesthetics. The subsequent album Ov Biospheres And Sacred Grooves: A Document Ov New Edge Folk Classics (1992) demonstrated their commitment to recontextualizing traditional and contemporary folk material through an experimental lens. The project operated primarily during the early-to-mid 1990s, a period when KK Records served as an important independent label for fringe electronic and experimental music. Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia represented part of a broader underground movement that blended industrial music with esoteric, spiritual, and ecological themes. Their work contributed to the broader taxonomy of dark ambient, noise, and experimental music that characterized the alternative underground during this era.
