Chris and Cosey emerge, a duo sculpting post-industrial soundscapes with synthesized pop undertones. Heartbeat, their debut, pulses with the rhythmic experimentation that becomes their trademark. This is the sound of machines dreaming. Their extensive archive—a testament to 15 relentless years—spans 53 releases. Vinyl, cassettes, postcards. Function and form meld in their hands. Labels like Play It Again Sam Records and Wax Trax! Records amplify their reach. Conspiracy International becomes their base, a platform for their evolving sound. Trance (1990), a hypnotic journey released by Wax Trax! Records and Conspiracy International, is a highlight. It mirrors the duo's ability to weave percussive textures with avant-garde aesthetics. Synaesthesia (1991), a Play It Again Sam Records offering, continues this trajectory, exploring metronomic precision and dystopian melodies.
