Live Sheffield Summer 1977
<div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="a47qc-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="a47qc-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">In June of 1977, Adi Newton, Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh, formed a group called The Dead Daughters, to perform at a private party held in bar in the University of Sheffield for one performance only.</div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="cn2dk-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="cn2dk-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj"> </div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="507nr-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="507nr-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">Their next incarnation was the legendary and mythological 'the Studs' which consisted of Adi Newton, Martyn Ware, Ian Craig Marsh (The Future), Glen Gregory (Heaven 17), Richard H Kirk, Stephen Mallinder, Christopher Watson (Cabaret Voltaire ), and Hayden Boyes Weston (2.3).</div> <div data-offset-key="507nr-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj"> </div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="d5drd-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="d5drd-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">The Studs played one chaotic and anarchic performance the set included versions of the "Dr Who Theme", "Louie Louie", "Viscious", "Cock in My Pocket" and "The Drones Want to Come on Now" and a recording was made of this legendary 20 minutes performance.</div> <div data-offset-key="d5drd-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj"> </div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="fmcms-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="fmcms-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">After the concert and still in Summer 1977 'THE FUTURE' with group members Martyn Ware (Synthesizer), Ian Craig Marsh (Synthesizer) and Adi Newton (Tape Machines tape loops & Treatments) was formed.</div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="6qtru-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="6qtru-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj"> </div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="2si3-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="2si3-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">After a few months Adi went on to do his own project 'Clock DVA' together with Steven "Judd" Taylor and their first official Vinyl Release was on a Compilation called '1980: The First Fifteen Minutes' released by Neutron Records in 1979.</div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="9vcfj-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="9vcfj-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj"> </div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="id95-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="id95-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">Neutron was established by Stephen Singleton and Mark White, both of the band Vice Versa and later to be joined by Martin Fry (who also ran the mag 'Modern Drugs" to form ABC with smash-hits like "the Look of Love"</div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="8qua-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="8qua-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj"> </div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="fnsdn-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="fnsdn-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">Martyn Ware and Ian Craig Marsh invited Phil Oakey to join The Future and shortly after renamed The Future to 'Human League' to have monster-success with Being Boiled.</div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="1s7mu-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="1s7mu-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj"> </div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="5oc7p-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="5oc7p-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">Another 2 years later Martyn and Ian went on to form Heaven 17 and got Glenn Gregory to join them as singer and released their smashers like 'Temptation', 'Let me Go'</div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="23vq5-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="23vq5-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj"> </div> </div> <div data-block="true" data-editor="54e2q" data-offset-key="7ca5d-0-0"> <div data-offset-key="7ca5d-0-0" class="_1mf _1mj">The rest is well known history</div> </div>
