Stranglers IV (Rattus Norvegicus)
Originally with a triangular hype sticker on the sleeve shrink wrap (not always applied accurately to top left corner) indicating "Includes Free Single - Limited Edition". This is one of the first 10,000 pressings with an additional 7" single housed in a plain dark-orange sleeve (the sleeve is unpunched, top-opening with thumb-cutout on top back edge, glue-tab side). Issued with photo-illustrated, colour, card inner sleeve (including coloured photo-illustration on front side of insert, credits and tracklist on back side). Recorded and produced at T.W. Studios, Fulham in January/Feburary 1977. Mixed at Olympic Studios, Barnes. ℗ 1977 United Artists Records Ltd. Manufactured in England a product of United Artists Records Ltd. Side C and D use catalogue number 'FREE 3'. 'WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FOR NOTHING!' etched into runout on side D. Side C's track recorded live at The Nashville pub in West Kensington, 10 December 1976. Runouts: - EMI pressing derived from strings which are mostly stamped.. - Cutting derived from "JONZ" etching
