The Madcap Laughs
Released in an outside laminated gatefold cover where the disc is housed in the rear opening and the front opening is glued shut with no inner flap. Green/yellow Harvest labels with no EMI logo, 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd.' at 11 o'clock in rimtext and ‘Made in Gt. Britain' at the bottom centre. First catalogue number on cover rear and labels, second (EMI international catalogue number) in parentheses on cover rear. The backcover states printing date 6911 (November 1969). This was clearly in advance of the 1970 release date. This is very similar to the original UK release [r831035], except for the following label only differences: • 'SYD BARRETT' appears further up above the 'HARVEST' lettering at 9 o'clock. • Side B writing credit for B2 appears as "Barrett + Joyce", instead of "Barrett except + Joyce". • On both label sides there is a gap between 'Lupus Music Ltd.' and 'Produced by ...'. On the cover, tracks B4 to B6 have a combined running time of 7:59.
