The music on this album was spontaneously composed in real-time by David Tolley and Dure Dara in a 3 part performance series at the Universal Theatre, Melbourne titled: Listen As Habit - Sept. 15 & 16 Be-Fore - Sept. 22 & 23 Lurching Spitting - Sept. 29 & 30 Each appearance comprised several extended compositions performed in quad and recorded live in stereo, direct from the mixing desk. From these recordings, eight pieces were selected for mastering without overdubbing, as a document of the three weeks of performance. A1, A3 recorded Sun.16 during Listen As Habit A2 recorded Sat.15 during Listen As Habit A4 recorded Sun.23 during Be-Fore B1 recorded Sat.22 during Be-Fore B2 recorded Sat.29 during Lurching Spitting B3, B4 recorded Sun.30 during Lurching Spitting During her performance of 'Chicken Shit' Dure Dare fondled, tore apart, cut, prepared and cooked a fresh chicken using a chopping board, meat cleaver, wok, sauces, bottled gas and a burner. At the end of the performance she fed the end result to the audience.
