About

Image 341 Inc was an independent record label active during the early 1980s, primarily operating as a cassette-based imprint focused on experimental and underground music. The label's output reflects the DIY ethos characteristic of the post-punk and industrial music era, with a concentrated discography of three documented releases spanning 1980-1981. The label's catalog includes "Incident in Moderan" and "Variable" (both 1980) and "York Tape" (1981), all issued in cassette format, which was the preferred medium for underground and experimental artists seeking affordable distribution during this period. The geographic base and specific founding details of Image 341 Inc remain limited in available documentation, though the label's presence in archival collections suggests a role within the broader underground music network of the early 1980s. The label's emphasis on cassette releases positions it within the experimental and industrial music community's preference for accessible, affordable formats that facilitated independent artist promotion and distribution outside mainstream commercial channels.

  • Gordon Hoperan Un-Ltd Abilities Label, later Flowmotion Label. An English composer, music critic and publisher. He started out in 1980 under a number of monikers: The ETERNAL, GORDON ALIEN and THIS LITTLE ALIEN. In 1984 he briefly worked with a group POSSESSION. He gained more acclaim for his co-working with Ian DOBSON in their joint project THOSE LITTLE ALIENS, and the co-running of FLOWMOTION, a music imprint and one of the first magazines dedicated to industrial music, from 1980 to 1985. From 1983 to 1985 he had his own indepen- dent label A-MISSION RECORDS. As a sound artist he explored and fused industrial avant-garde of rock music aesthetics with elements of academic experimental electronic music. He employed a synthesizer and a guitar, as well as self-made collages on tapes containing ambient sounds, syntheti- cally generated bruitist textures and random excerpts from radio broadca- sts. He completely withdrew from his musical and publishing operations in 1985 for unknown reasons.
