The Embarrassment were an experimental noise and dark ambient project active during the early 1980s underground music scene. The group released two notable works: the cassette compilation Retrospective in 1982 on Fresh Sounds Inc, and the album Death Travels West in 1983. Their sound exemplified the lo-fi experimental and industrial aesthetics prevalent in post-punk underground circles of that era.
