Sex Gang Children were an experimental music group active in the early 1980s, emerging from the British underground music scene during a period of significant innovation in post-punk and industrial music. The band's output was characterized by avant-garde sensibilities, blending elements of industrial, experimental noise, and dark sonic textures. Their prolific output in 1983 demonstrates their creative intensity during this formative period, with three albums released on the independent Illuminated Records label: Song And Legend, Beasts, and Sebastiane. These releases showcased their willingness to explore unconventional compositional approaches and abrasive sonics. The group's 1984 cassette release Ecstasy And Vendetta Over New York, issued on ROIR Records, extended their reach into the international underground music network.
