Scientists
Scientists, a garage rock band from Australia, unleashes raw chaos with fuzzy riffs and punk's edge since 1978.
About
Scientists. Raw, unfiltered chaos from the Australian underground. Kim Salmon's brainchild, birthed in 1978 Perth, wielded fuzzy guitar riffs and lo-fi production like weapons. Their sound? A visceral assault — garage rock on a collision course with punk's abrasive edge. Releases like "Blood Red River" (1983) and "This Heart Doesn't Run On Blood, This Heart Doesn't Run On Love" (1984) captured this unrelenting spirit. The 80s were theirs, and they carved their name into the scene with a trail of vinyl pressed by Au Go Go, Red Eye Records, and more. "Weird Love" (1986) distilled their essence — quintessential, confrontational. A sonic evolution was marked with "Absolute" (1991), showcasing a matured ferocity. Collaboration with heavyweights like Au Go Go and Numero Group was no accident; it was a statement. A declaration of influence and legacy in Australia's punk tapestry. Scientists didn't just play music; they lived it, breathed it, and left an indelible mark on the landscape.
