Scheiss Die Wand
German experimental industrial project from the early 1980s underground noise and post-punk scene.
About
Scheiss Die Wand was a German experimental and industrial music project active during the early 1980s underground music scene. Operating primarily through self-released and small-label cassette and vinyl releases, the project exemplified the DIY ethos and provocative aesthetic of the post-punk and industrial underground. Their early output includes the self-released cassette Rock Gegen Musik (1982) and the album Ø Titel: Ø (1982), both demonstrating an uncompromising approach to experimental sound design. The project's name and output reflected the transgressive and confrontational attitudes prevalent in European industrial and noise music circles of the era. Die Wand An (1985), released on the Schneeball label, represented a later phase of their work. Though operating within the margins of the underground music landscape, Scheiss Die Wand contributed to the broader experimental and industrial music movements that emerged from Germany during this period, characterized by harsh textures, unconventional production methods, and rejection of commercial music industry conventions.
