About

Sarenco is an Italian artist and experimental musician active from the 1970s onwards, based in Brescia. Working across multiple media including performance, sound, and visual art, Sarenco emerged from the avant-garde and experimental music scenes of post-war Italy. His practice encompassed political and conceptual dimensions, as evidenced by early works like "political poems" (1970) and the self-published magazine "Informazione Informale" (1974), which documented experimental artistic practices in Studio Brescia. By the 1980s, Sarenco expanded into recorded music, releasing the LP "Io Grido E Canto" (1983), which blended experimental sound with performative and poetic elements. His work engaged with concepts of noise, unconventional notation, and the intersection of politics and aesthetics characteristic of the European experimental underground. Sarenco also participated in international artistic networks, as suggested by materials documenting his presence in New York. His interdisciplinary approach and commitment to experimental practice positioned him within broader movements of sound art and conceptual music in contemporary Europe.
