About
Polidrico is an obscure experimental and industrial project from the 1980s, primarily documented through three cassette releases that showcase the project's commitment to underground sound art and tape-based experimentation. Operating within Spain's underground music scene, Polidrico released Segunda Muestra in 1984 as a self-released cassette, establishing their presence in the DIY industrial underground. The project continued with Tercera Muestra in 1985 and Imaledam in 1988, both released on the Obreros Del Sonido label, a significant outlet for experimental and industrial music in Spain during this period. The releases suggest an approach rooted in noise, dark ambient textures, and industrial sound design characteristic of the European underground scene of that era. The nomenclature of their early releases—"muestra" meaning "sample" or "showing"—indicates a project focused on sonic exploration and documentation rather than conventional song structures. Despite limited commercial visibility, Polidrico's work represents an important part of the Spanish experimental music underground and the broader European industrial and noise music movements of the 1980s.
