About

Nexda flickered briefly into existence in 1982, emerging from the Netherlands with a spectral presence. Their canvas: six releases—four tapes, two in print—each a testament to the lo-fi intimacy of cassette culture. "Dirt & Junkride" and "Black" embodied the analog warmth and skeletal rhythms of minimal synth. Collaborating with Studio 12, Nexda operated within a clandestine Dutch network, alongside kindred spirits like Mekanik Kommando and Pseudo Code. Their sound, wrapped in dark atmospheres and rhythmic experimentation, avoided the trappings of mainstream polish. Instead, the group embraced textural soundscapes that were precise, austere. Nexda's commitment to physical formats emphasized their position within the experimental underground, a brief but notable imprint on the cassette-driven scene.
