About
New Carrollton didn't play by your rules. Emerging from the shadows of Prince George's County, Maryland, they carved out a presence from 1986 to 1989, crafting soundscapes that were both abrasive and haunting. Their weapon of choice: the cassette tape. Seven self-released sonic assaults, each a testament to their unyielding vision. Watergate Tapes became their accomplice, amplifying their dissonant textures and tape manipulation. Their work wasn't a casual listen. It was a confrontation. "Lust for Life" (1989) stands as their manifesto—a cacophony of harsh soundscapes that demanded attention. "If He's An Ass Here He Won't Be A Horse There" explored the absurd with raw, unfiltered aggression. Each release a challenge. An invitation to endure. They shared the scene with the likes of Murderwerkers and ConDemek, but New Carrollton stood apart. No frills, no polish. Just the visceral truth of industrial noise, echoing through the underground. Few heard them, but those who did, never forgot.
