About
Mekanik Kommando is an experimental and industrial music project that emerged during the early 1980s underground music scene. The group's output is characterized by avant-garde approaches to sound design, blending elements of industrial music, noise, and experimental composition. Their discography spans from the early 1980s through the mid-1980s, beginning with the LP "It Would Be Quiet In The Woods If Only A Few Birds Sing" in 1981, followed by "Dancing Elephant" in 1982. The project later evolved into the Herbstblüte moniker, releasing "And then the wind came down" initially on cassette through Rosebud Records in 1985, with a subsequent reissue in 1986. Mekanik Kommando's work reflects the experimental ethos of the European underground music scene during this period, contributing to the broader landscape of industrial and noise music that developed throughout the 1980s. The project's aesthetic and sonic approach position it within the wider context of experimental and avant-garde music communities of its era.
