About
Jeff Laryngo. A brief flash in the French experimental scene, 1985–1986. Raw, abstract, and uncompromising. Laryngo's work wasn't meant to comfort. It was meant to challenge. The name graced six releases, all under the banner of Émergence Du Refus. The tapes — Musique Stérilisée Garantie Sans Matière Grise and Rustine du Cambouis Mental — carved out sonic spaces where dissonant textures clashed with found sounds and tape manipulation. The result? An assault on the senses, a refusal to conform. In 1986, Laryngo's contributions exploded into four magazine releases: Bandage, Coup d'rein, Floue my Dear, and Cul-bulles. Each project was a collage of noise, embracing chaos and rejecting predictability. Unlike mainstream trends, Laryngo thrived on the fringes, alongside kindred spirits like hat-hat and humoresk. For those willing to endure the barrage, Laryngo offered a visceral experience — one that left an imprint even on its limited audience.
