Gypznik
Gypznik, an industrial punk artist from the late 80s, is known for their raw soundscapes and chaotic releases on cassette and vinyl.
About
Gypznik erupted onto the scene from 1987 to 1992, carving a niche in the industrial punk landscape. Their raw, harsh soundscapes emerged from the analog hiss of cassette tapes, with five releases on this format alongside a solitary vinyl LP. The debut "Gypznik" (1987) on Rubbish Recordings captured their early industrial punk flair, blending aggressive vocals with dissonant rhythms and lo-fi production. Each release was an exercise in functional chaos, from "Not Only for the Weaker Sex" (1989) to "Lust is the Root of All Evil" (1992), tapes that rattled with the echoes of a relentless DIY ethos. Their work, often self-released or on the aptly named Rubbish Recordings, eschewed polish for grit and authenticity. The compilation "Rare and Brutal 1986-90" (1990) serves as a testament to their sonic evolution, chronicling the relentless drive and mechanical intensity of their music. Gypznik's sound was not merely experimental—it was a deliberate act of industrial rebellion, mirrored in the self-released "JUSTICE IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL."
