About
Fatal Impact is an underground industrial and noise project that emerged during the mid-1980s cassette culture era. The project's discography reveals a progression through harsh industrial and experimental sound design, beginning with early self-titled and "Shooting Power" releases on the French label Acide Sedatif in 1985. The group's sonic aesthetic evolved toward darker, more extreme territories, evident in the "Satan For Ever" releases issued through Nuit Et Brouillard in 1991, which showcase brutalist noise composition and nihilistic thematic content. Fatal Impact's final documented output, "Unlimited Version" (1994) on the underground Swedish label Slaughter Productions, represents the project's continued engagement with uncompromising experimental noise. Operating primarily within cassette-based underground networks, Fatal Impact contributed to the broader European industrial and power electronics underground, working within a tradition shared by contemporary noise and dark ambient practitioners. The project's limited releases and obscure distribution strategy reflect the insular nature of extreme underground music communities during this period.
