About

Familie Hesselbach was a German experimental and industrial music project active during the early 1980s. Operating within the underground experimental scene of West Germany, the group released material characterized by avant-garde instrumentation and unconventional sound design typical of the post-industrial era. Their self-titled LP "Familie Hesselbach" appeared in 1982 on Infam Produkt, the same year they released "Froh Zu Sein" as a cassette. A subsequent album, "Sueddeutschland," was issued in 1984 on the influential ZickZack Platen label, which was known for releasing experimental and new wave artists. The comprehensive retrospective "Der Untergang des Hauses H. - Familie Hesselbach 1980-1985" was compiled in 1985 on Weke Junger Monarchen, documenting the project's five-year output. Though documentation remains limited, Familie Hesselbach's placement within German experimental music circles and association with key independent labels positions them as a minor but notable participant in the early 1980s industrial and experimental underground. Their work reflects the broader aesthetic experimentation of post-industrial music in Northern Europe during this period.
