Duotronic Synterror
German industrial and noise project from the early 1980s, active on the Wartungsfrei label with harsh experimental electronic releases.
About
Duotronic Synterror was a German experimental and industrial music project active in the early 1980s. Operating primarily through the Wartungsfrei label, the group released a series of cassettes between 1982 and 1983, establishing themselves within the burgeoning German noise and experimental underground scene. Their output, including Das Vermächtnis Der Petra Schürmann, Juni, and Pech und Schwefel, demonstrates an approach combining electronic synthesis with harsh, dissonant textures characteristic of early industrial music. The project's later work, including the album Zerstör die welt, pushed further into abrasive sonic territories. Though documentation remains limited, Duotronic Synterror's concentrated period of activity and aesthetic align with the broader German industrial and power electronics movements of the period. The group's association with Wartungsfrei and their output on both cassette and vinyl formats reflects the DIY ethics prevalent in underground experimental music communities of the era.
