About
Damned is an experimental music project that emerged in the late 1970s, working primarily in noise, industrial, and dark ambient territories. Active throughout the early 1980s, the project released a series of provocatively titled works including Love Song (1979), Friday 13th (1981), Dozen Girls (1982), and Strawberries (1982), establishing themselves as part of the underground experimental and noise music scenes of that era. The project's output demonstrates an engagement with unconventional recording techniques and confrontational aesthetics characteristic of post-punk and industrial underground movements. Later work extended to video documentation, as evidenced by Final Damnation (1988). Though operating outside mainstream commercial contexts, Damned contributed to the broader development of experimental and noise-based music practices during a formative period for these genres. The project's body of work reflects the era's intersection of punk ethos with electronic experimentation and avant-garde sensibilities.
