CTI — the industrial synthesis of Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti — operated in the shadows of the UK's post-industrial landscape. From 1981 to 1988, they crafted soundscapes that oscillated between dark synth textures and experimental rhythms, recorded under the banners of Conspiracy International and Doublevision. The duo's output was as diverse as it was relentless, spanning LPs, magazines, and a solitary VHS release. The project "Core - A Conspiracy International Project" (1988) on Nettwerk Productions encapsulated their avant-garde aesthetics, a relentless exploration of mechanical sound and dystopian themes. Integral to their operation was the CTI Bulletin series — a printed manifestation of their mechanical and sonic visions, distributed in magazine form. These bulletins served as a metronomic pulse, echoing the industrial ethos at the heart of their work. Releases like "Conspiracy International One" (1984) and "Conspiracy International Two" (1984) on their own label, Conspiracy International, were functional expressions of their experimental roots. CTI's work functioned as a network, connecting the underground currents of industrial music to a wider audience without compromising its dystopian edge.
