Buttocks was an experimental music project active during the late 1970s and early 1980s, emerging from the European underground music scene. The group released their self-titled LP "The Buttocks" in 1979, establishing themselves within the industrial and experimental music underground. Following their debut album, Buttocks documented live performances on cassette, including releases on the Walters Lust Label in 1981: "LiveC-6" and a concert recording from Frankfurt's Batschkapp venue. These cassette releases capture the group's raw, improvisational approach to experimental sound. Little detailed documentation exists regarding specific band membership or extensive discographical information, though their output reflects the DIY ethic and cassette culture that characterized the European experimental and industrial music scenes of the period. Buttocks remains a relatively obscure but notable entry within the broader landscape of 1980s underground experimental music, particularly in the German and European avant-garde contexts.
