About

In the dim glow of 1983 Hamburg, Boytronic emerged from the minds of Holger Wobker and Peter Sawatzki, a spectral synth-pop entity initially known as Kapitän Sehnsucht. Their debut, The Working Model, laid down melodic synth lines and danceable beats, capturing an analog warmth that resonated with listeners. Mercury and Metronome, their label conduits, facilitated an austere yet accessible sound — nostalgic, yet forward-looking. Tracks like "You (Extended Version)" echoed through the nocturnal airwaves, securing their place alongside Rational Youth and Visage. The Continental followed in 1984, further exploring the lyrical themes of love with precision. By 1986, a shift occurred; the record company's intervention led to a reconstitution of Boytronic under Hayo Lewerentz. Despite the transformation, the analog warmth persisted, as evidenced in releases like "You (Special '86 Remix)". "Hold On (Boyzclub Mix)" in 1991 marked their evolution, a final echo before a temporary silence. Their synth-pop lineage remains an enduring skeleton in the electronic music landscape.
