Artist
à;GRUMH...
à;GRUMH..., a Belgian EBM artist since 1981, crafts dark rhythmic patterns and experimental soundscapes that challenge the norm.
About
Emerging from the industrial contours of Charleroi, à;GRUMH... operated within the Belgian EBM scene like a clandestine assembly line. Forged in 1981 by SΔ3 Evets and JΔ3 Seuqcaj, their sound was a mechanized revolt: dark rhythmic patterns and synth-driven soundscapes, punctuated with experimental vocal techniques and relentless sampling. Each release was another cog in their relentless machine, most notably the album A Hard Day's Knight (1989) on Play It Again Sam Records, a label that became synonymous with their functional aesthetic. Six LPs and two cassettes document their decade of activity, with live tapes like Live Batschkapp Frankfurt 16.12.1987 capturing the intensity of their performances. These self-released artifacts serve as raw blueprints of a band unafraid to subvert and reassemble the industrial noise into something uniquely dystopian. In the factory of EBM, à;GRUMH... were both architects and deconstructors, their output as much about the process as the product. Each track a relentless march, each performance a testament to their mechanical ethos, until their line ceased in 1989.
