Their sound, skeletal and atmospheric, found a natural home on the Diskret Label, a nexus for lo-fi minimal synth in Germany. The tapes — "Helden Der Berge" and "Jahre der Enthaltsamkeit" among them — encapsulate a precise aesthetic: synth-driven melodies, experimental arrangements, and an analog warmth that whispers through the hiss of cassette tape. "Brigaden der Sehnsucht" remains a touchstone, its austere soundscape resonating with the minimal synth scene. Collaborations with Diskret Label enabled 4712 to etch their nocturnal visions onto magnetic tape, aligning them with contemporaries like Der Blaue Traum and Täglich. Their limited output, captured on four tapes and two magazine contributions, offers a glimpse into a period where format and label were as defining as the sounds themselves.
